SWINE FLU

IMPORTANT INFORMATION 24th July 2009

Please do NOT come to the surgery if you have flu symptoms.

If you believe may have flu, you should now EITHER:

Go on the web and work through a symptom checker (algorithm):

Certain risk groups will be advised to contact their GPs

If this is the case, please telephone (do NOT come in to the surgery) on:

Brockway: 01275 850600 or Backwell: 01275 465100

WHAT YOU CAN DO TO PROTECT YOURSELF AND OTHERS AGAINST FLU:

Preventing the spread of germs is the single most effective way to slow the spread of diseases like flu.

CATCH IT. BIN IT. KILL IT.

You can protect yourself and your family by ensuring everyone washes their hands regularly with soap and water, and by cleaning surfaces regularly.

You can prevent a virus spreading to others by:

Always carrying tissues

Using tissues to cover your mouth and nose when you cough and sneeze

Binning the tissues as soon as possible

TO AVOID SPREADING INFECTION, DO NOT GO TO THE SURGERY OR A&E IF YOU HAVE FLU SYMPTOMS: PLEASE RING NHS DIRECT 0845 4647
